My work explores symbolism and patterns driven by the ideas behind them. Prints were hand-set in metal type and manually printed on a Vandercook 317 proving press on dampened 250gsm Stonehenge Vellum. Ornamental background patterns are composed from the “Granjon Arabesques,” a set of six combinable glyphs devised by Robert Granjon (1513-1590).
The “Dysphoria Typographica” series investigates deconstruction, reimagining, and trying to make sense of what remains. These studies are altered prints made from extra-edition copies of my “Tennyson Tetraptych” series.
